Lexington Friends Preschool is housed in the Lexington Meeting House near downtown Lexington, Kentucky. LFP offers a secular curriculum and is an independently incorporated non-profit governed by its own board. We are proud of our relationship with Lexington Friends Meeting (Quakers). The shared values gained from this association will help guide us in our business practices and our work with children; however, we are not a religious school. We will endeavor to create a community of equality, integrity, patience, simplicity, and good stewardship. This work is very much grounded by Friends’ values and the philosophy of Maria Montessori.
LFP offers a child-centered, hands-on learning environment where children guide their learning experience. Our program is inspired by the philosophy and curriculum of Maria Montessori, play, and project-based learning. The classroom environment is carefully prepared to inspire creativity and curiosity. Through a careful balance of academics and play, children naturally develop a life-long love of learning. We strive to create a nurturing and enriching environment where all children are respected as members of the community.
